Requirements

• We will start with the basics, the Rule of Signs: Adding, Subtracting, Multiplying and Dividing Whole Numbers.
• We will then move on to learning how to Solve One-Step Equations using the rule of signs.

Description

Each lesson includes:

• A video: In the videos, we will do examples to first develop a rule, then use this rule(s) to solve an example.

• Notes: You will be able to download a pdf file containing example(s) of the lesson so you can have the information readily available outside of the course.

• Practice with Quizzes: You will get a chance to practice what you just learned before moving on to the next lesson. You will be able to download the solution, similar to the notes, to compare to your answer/solution.

• Additional Resources: You can download additional examples and practice questions with answers.

By end of course, student should be able to:

• Add integers (whole numbers) with the same and different signs.

• Subtract integers by adding the opposite.

• Multiply and divide integers with the same and different signs.

• Learn the basics of solving linear equations

  • Solve one step linear equations using inverse operations,

  • Review the Subtraction and Addition Property of Equality,

  • Review the Multiplication and Division Property of Equality.

• Learn key words for translating words into mathematical expressions.

• Practice translating and solving one-step word problems.

Please know, this series was created for learners who have difficulties with mathematics and can benefit from a step-by-step process and reviewing basic information before an algebra topic is presented.
