Description
This course contains the use of artificial intelligence.
An international career rarely fails on language or on visas. It fails on things nobody explains, like being read as arrogant for saying exactly what you meant.
What actually goes wrong
Someone competent moves to a new market and finds that their directness is heard as rudeness, or their politeness is heard as having no opinion. Their CV is formatted for a country nobody there hires in. They apply through a platform local recruiters stopped using two years ago. And they wait for roles to be advertised in a market where the good ones never are. Every one of those is fixable, and none of them are about being good at the job.
What this course actually covers
Five blocks. First, culture: high and low context, how feedback is delivered and received, negotiation, power distance, how decisions get made, how disagreement is expressed, and what different cultures do with time. Second, how hiring actually works across six regions — North America, Europe, Asia, Latin America, Africa and the Middle East — including the local platforms, the CV conventions and the work authorisation rules for each. Third, finding what is not advertised: profile setup, building a network across borders, Boolean and X-ray search, and the tools recruiters use. Fourth, the search mechanics: the CV, the recruiter screen, the interview, staying functional through months of it, and the money conversation. Fifth, ten lessons of personal work — talents, impostor syndrome, a skills audit against an international role, burnout and financial runway.
A note on two of the blocks
The regional hiring block and the search block were recorded for people who hire, not for people being hired. That is deliberate and it is the most useful part of the course. You get to see which platforms are used in your target region, which search queries surface you, and how to reach a hiring manager directly. If you work in recruiting yourself, both blocks apply to you as recorded.
