Description
As you complete the DIYC One-Design Crew Training, be assured that you are now competent and capable crew, not only on the J24 and the M24, but on most keelboats. Continually refresh your skill set by sailing as much and as often as you can. DIYC offers many opportunities for sailing, beginning with the Thursday nights series and a variety of other sailing opportunities. Check with other clubs in the area. For example, St. Petersburg Sailing Association sponsors a Friday night racing forum, and there are other clubs which hold similar races. In addition, keep in contact with the instructors and boat owners you have met at this instructional gathering. Most skippers will tell you that finding and keeping good crew is the biggest bane of being a boat owner. You are their most valuable resource. As such, be good crew. Show up on time. Be prepared. Be ready for any condition or situation. Continue to grow in your knowledge and in your abilities. Represent your boat and your crew with pride and integrity. Sail boat racing is one of the most enjoyable and satisfying sports available, and you are now part of it. Welcome!Checklist for Sept. 10th
