Requirements

  • I will say that from a prerequisites perspectives
  • you will have an easier time learning to become a DBA if you have one of the folliwng: – A Computer Science or Engineering background / degree – Math/Physics degree. Even if you have some years in college without an actual degree thats fine. That wont be an impediment. – If you dont have a degree as such or a technical background
  • you should invest time to study how Operating Systems and Networking works. You will need those to understand how the database works. – Depending on your learning style
  • either sign up for classes or just pick up a book or two and start teaching yourself. I generally recommend starting with the latter
  • struggling a bit and then taking a class. – Focus on understand how Oracle can be administered using the command line interface. This is huge
  • believe me. You can become “just another DBA” or you can become a great DBA depending on how much time you invest understanding how things really work and how many layers of the onion you are going to peel away. OEM and a whole plethora of GUI based tools will be tempting but their best use is when you are actually done learning and just doing work. They teach very little and can lull you into a false sense of security. – Find a mentor or two with who you can discuss what you learn. – You can also
  • if you can afford it
  • offer to work free for some company for a short while with the objective of learning.

Description

IMPORTANT: This course contains Practice Tests only. It does not contain video tutorials. These tests are designed to assess your knowledge of Oracle Database Internal Architecture and prepare you for DBA interviews and certifications.

Oracle Database is the engine of the Global Enterprise.

It is not just about writing SQL queries. A true Oracle Professional understands what happens inside the server. How does the database handle concurrent users? How does it recover from a power failure without losing data? What is the difference between an Instance and a Database?

Welcome to the MOHNAS Oracle DBA Assessment.

This course digs deep into the internal mechanisms of the Oracle Database. Whether you are a Junior DBA, a Developer wanting to optimize performance, or a student preparing for Oracle certification exams, these tests will validate your technical understanding.

What to expect in this course:
This course consists of Full-Length Practice Tests covering the Physical and Logical architecture of Oracle.

  • Core Architecture & Storage. (Datafiles, Control Files, Tablespaces, and Segments).

  • Processes & Memory. (SGA, PGA, Background Processes, and Listener configuration).

Topics covered in these questions:

  • Physical Structure: Managing Datafiles, Control Files, and Online Redo Logs.

  • Logical Structure: Understanding Tablespaces, Segments, Extents, and Blocks.

  • Memory Architecture: The System Global Area (SGA) vs. Program Global Area (PGA).

  • Database Instances: How the Background Processes (DBWn, LGWR, CKPT, SMON, PMON) work together.

  • High Availability: Archive Log Mode, Flashback Technology, and basic RMAN concepts.

  • Configuration: Managing SPFILE and PFILE (Parameter files).

  • Diagnostics: Reading Alert Logs and Trace Files for troubleshooting.

Why take these Practice Tests?

  1. Certification Readiness: These topics align with the core requirements for Oracle Database Administration exams (OCA/OCP).

  2. Job Interview Prep: “Explain the difference between a Redo Log and an Archive Log” is a classic DBA interview question. We ensure you can answer it correctly.

  3. Real-World Scenarios: Questions are designed to test your troubleshooting logic (e.g., “The database won’t mount. Which file is likely missing?”).

Who is this course for?

  • Aspiring Database Administrators (DBAs).

  • SQL Developers who want to understand the backend architecture.

  • System Administrators tasked with managing Oracle servers.

What does this course offer you?

  • Challenging Practice Questions: Timed to simulate exam conditions.

  • Detailed Explanations: We explain the role of every component (e.g., why the Control File is critical for booting).

  • Performance Tracking: Identify if you are weak in Storage or Memory concepts.

  • Lifetime Access: Retake the tests as you progress in your career.

Master the world’s most powerful database.
Don’t just store data—understand how it lives, breathes, and recovers. Enroll today with MOHNAS and take your first step toward becoming an Oracle Architecture Expert.
