Description
Can you decide where generative AI creates business value, choose the right Microsoft AI product for a business need, and land it inside a governed organization — without writing code?
Prepare for Microsoft AB-731 (AI Transformation Leader) with 600 original questions across six full-length mock exams of 100 items each. Every exam is blueprint-weighted, so each one is a coherent rehearsal of the whole blueprint rather than a random topic dump.
This is a business-leader exam. It expects judgment about value cases and ROI, token economics, hallucination and grounding, prompt quality, data quality, and secure AI — then about which Microsoft capability fits: Microsoft 365 Copilot, Copilot Chat, Copilot Studio, Microsoft Graph grounding, Researcher and Analyst, Foundry Tools, and model selection. Finally it expects an adoption plan: a responsible AI council, standards, champions, licence choice, and commitment models.
WHAT YOU GET
• Six original 100-question mock exams
• Blueprint weighting on every exam: 37 / 38 / 25 across the three published domains
• Mixed item types: 76 multiple-choice, 16 multi-select, with 8 of the multiple-choice items asking you to pick the correct candidate sequence
• Four three-question case studies inside every exam
• An explanation for every option plus a case-specific overall rationale
• Local study-map skill anchors and the official study-guide reference on every item
• Offline Markdown review copies alongside instructor CSV files
• A reproducible ZIP, a validation report, and automated structural tests
HOW THE ITEM MIX MATCHES THE REAL EXAM
AB-731 is a 45-minute proctored assessment and Microsoft does not publish how many items it contains. Candidates should expect scenario-based single-answer items and multi-select items rather than a wall of definitions.
These mock exams reproduce what a CSV player can score honestly:
• Single-choice items with one best answer.
• Multi-select items that state the required count (“Select two”) and accept a comma-separated key.
• Ordering items rendered as four candidate sequences, so sequencing judgment is tested without a drag-and-drop UI.
• Case studies: a shared scenario followed by three scored questions, exactly as a case-study block behaves in the exam.
What is deliberately not reproduced, and is stated in every export: hot-area image selection, drag-and-drop UI, hands-on labs and interactive components, adaptive problem-solution (yes/no) sets, and the exact live item count.
HOW THE FILES ARE EXPORTED
Udemy’s bulk question importer accepts only two `Question Type` values: `multiple-choice` and `multi-select`. Every file here therefore exports 84 multiple-choice and 16 multi-select items per exam. The eight sequencing items are authored as four candidate orderings with one correct answer, so they upload as ordinary multiple-choice items — no drag-and-drop UI is required and scoring stays exact.
WHY EACH EXAM IS 100 ITEMS
Microsoft publishes no item count for AB-731, so a 100-item exam cannot be described as the live length. It is an expanded practice bank: the extra volume gives every sub-objective real coverage and lets you drill the same blueprint twice without repeating a question. Because the item count differs, do not read a practice duration as the real clock — see the pacing note below.
THE SIX EXAMS
1. CROSS-INDUSTRY BASELINE
Fabrikam Retail, Northwind Insurance, Contoso Health, and Adatum Bank: value cases, generative versus classical AI, prompting, grounding, data quality, secure AI, Copilot mapping, licence comparison, Studio agents, Graph grounding, responsible AI governance, champions, and cost models.
2. HEALTH AND LIFE SCIENCES
Cedar Ridge Health, Brookfield Clinics, BioNova Labs, and CareFirst Payer: clinical documentation, patient-facing chat, consent and privacy, retrieval over protocols, human review before clinical use, adoption in clinical teams, and AI council decisions in a regulated setting.
3. FINANCIAL SERVICES AND INSURANCE
Aurelian Capital, Fairgate Payments, Silverline Insurance, and Kingsmere Bank: friction costs in regulated advice, fraud and claims operations, model risk and documentation, agent governance, licence tiers for trading and service teams, and commitment planning for steady workloads.
4. MANUFACTURING, LOGISTICS, AND ENERGY
Calder Works, Vantage Motors, Northline Logistics, and Helios Energy: yield and routing, maintenance copilots, safety review, retrieval over superseded procedures, shop-floor adoption, and capacity for shift peaks.
5. PUBLIC SECTOR AND EDUCATION
Harborview Permits, Rowan University, Ashford Library, and Metro Transit: citizen and student services, records and residency, human oversight of eligibility decisions, accessibility, adoption across departments, and defensible procurement.
6. CROSS-INDUSTRY CAPSTONE
Kestrel Group, Fairhaven Mutual, Brightpath Services, and Highline Foods: shared model standards across brands, permission-aware grounding, one compliance boundary, a group AI council, champions per brand, and licensing across very different usage patterns.
EACH EXAM CONTAINS
• 37 questions on the business value of generative AI solutions
• 38 questions on Microsoft’s AI apps and services
• 25 questions on implementation and adoption strategy
COVERAGE THAT IS EXPLICIT ABOUT ITS LIMITS
All three published domains and 30 local study-map skills have mapped practice. Numeric skill IDs are local study aids, not Microsoft objective numbers. Mapping does not mean every sub-objective has equal depth, and the questions have not been psychometrically calibrated against the live exam.
HOW THE CERTIFICATION ACTUALLY WORKS
AB-731 is a proctored, 45-minute assessment for the AI Transformation Leader certification, aimed at business leaders rather than developers. Microsoft scores it on a 700/1000 scaled scale, lists it at $99 USD, offers it in 13 languages, and requires no hands-on coding. The certification is valid for one year with a free renewal assessment, and Microsoft publishes a practice assessment and an exam sandbox so you can see the item formats before sitting the real thing. Confirm current duration, price, language list, and renewal terms on the certification page, because they change.
HOW PRACTICE DIFFERS FROM THE SCORE
Each practice exam is 100 items, which is deliberately larger than a 45-minute assessment can be. Use 45 minutes for a pace drill — that is the real appointment length and it will feel tight — or 90 minutes for a full review attempt. Any percentage target you set is a study convention. Microsoft reports a scaled score of 700/1000, not a raw percentage, so a practice percentage is not a scaled exam score and no conversion is implied.
Concepts and option definitions recur across exams for reinforcement. Six hundred distinct question stems do not mean six hundred independent concepts or six independent readiness estimates. No score, calibrated difficulty, or certification result is guaranteed.
