Description
This workshop provides students with a practical and engaging introduction to entrepreneurship, focusing on how innovative ideas are generated, developed, and transformed into early-stage business concepts. Through hands-on activities and interactive discussions, students experience the entrepreneurial journey from identifying a real-world problem to proposing a structured solution. Rather than treating entrepreneurship as purely theoretical, the workshop emphasizes learning by doing and iterative thinking.
The course begins with an introduction to entrepreneurship and the core characteristics commonly associated with entrepreneurs, such as risk-taking, leadership, adaptability, creativity, and long-term vision. Students explore why individuals pursue entrepreneurship, how innovation drives community development, and the role new ideas play in economic growth. Real-world challenges faced by entrepreneurs—including uncertainty, failure, and limited resources—are discussed to build realistic expectations and resilience.
Students then learn structured idea-generation techniques, including traditional brainstorming, Library Mind Mapping, and the Lotus Flower Diagram. These tools help break down complex problems into manageable components, explore multiple solution pathways, and evaluate ideas based on feasibility and impact. Emphasis is placed on identifying meaningful problems rather than jumping prematurely to solutions.
The workshop continues with an introduction to basic market research. Students define target audiences, analyze user needs, examine competitors, and clarify value propositions. Using these insights, they develop a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) by prioritizing essential features and outlining the user journey. In the final stage, students explore prototyping methods such as sketching, paper prototyping, physical mockups, and digital tools like Figma. The workshop concludes with the Business Model Canvas, enabling students to organize their ideas and understand how a business creates, delivers, and captures value.
